CLEVELAND, Ohio — A double shooting on Cleveland’s East Side turned fatal on Wednesday after one victim died at the hospital.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s office identified Tionna Young, 31, as the victim.

A 33-year-old man was also shot in the hip during the incident. He was taken to University Hospitals and later arrested, police say.

The shooting happened about 11 a.m. on East 140th Street near Kinsman Road.

Police say Young was shot when the 33-year-old man and another man exchanged gunfire inside the apartment. The other man ran off after the shootout.

Resident Moesha Sharp told cleveland.com that at least 10 gunshots were fired.

She said Young ran to her room and asked her for help after she was shot in the chest and arm.

Paramedics found Young inside the home and rushed her to University Hospitals, where she was pronounced dead.

The man arrested has not yet been charged.

Detectives recovered one gun from the crime scene and are still investigating the shooting, police say.
