MARION, Ohio — As the sun rose in Marion, a crowd gathered to watch Buckeye Chuck, Ohio’s own prognosticating groundhog, make his Groundhog Day prediction.

The tradition goes that if Buckeye Chuck sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter. If he doesn’t, then it means an early spring.

Watch in the video above to see whether Buckeye Chuck predicted an early spring. He made his prediction at about 7:40 a.m. Feb. 2.

Punxsutawney Phil made his prediction in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania about 10 minutes earlier. He predicted six more weeks of winter.
