The mother of a Utah teen who went missing in Las Vegas more than one month ago has made a heartbreaking video plea to her daughter, telling her to “fight” the mysterious sex traffickers who the family fears kidnapped her.
The one-minute YouTube video begins by showing the words of 17-year-old Sarah Dunsey’s “last” text message: “If I die tonight it’s a guy named [blurred out name].”
Dunsey of Logan, Utah, was last seen at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas on Jan. 15 and her mother Amie Ellis claims in the video, “She is being held against her will and Sarah is a victim of sex trafficking.”
“We need Sarah home. I have to have to her home. I cannot wonder where she is and if she is safe. Please help us find her,” Ellis pleads.
Moments later in the video, the devastated mom speaks directly to her missing daughter.
“Sarah Bearah, this message is for you. I want you to fight because I need you. All of us need you,” Ellis says through tears. “The world needs you, so fight. We’re coming to get you.”
The emotional video had been viewed on YouTube more than 67,800 times by Friday morning.
The family has also set up a website, FindSarahDunsey.com, to help locate the girl, who is described as 5-foot-2 and 130 pounds with brown eyes and hair.
Authorities believe that Dunsey could be in Los Angeles, Las Vegas or Utah, according to KSL.com.
