CLEVELAND, Ohio — A woman threatened a witness to a fatal shooting in order to help her son, who is embroiled but not charged in the case, according to court records.

Kajuana Underwood, 38, is charged with intimidating a witness. She is not in police custody and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Underwood issued the threat at gunpoint on Jan. 30, court records say.

Court records do not describe exactly how Underwood’s son is connected to the case; they only say he’s “involved” in the Oct. 24 fatal shooting of Christopher Bishop, 20.

Bishop was killed during a fight with another man in the 9200 block of Wade Park Avenue in the city’s Hough neighborhood. Several witnesses reported seeing the fight, police said.

The other man shot Bishop in the chest and ran away. No arrests have been made in the case.

Bishop was found dead in the street, police said.
