CLEVELAND, Ohio — The new NBC comedy, “Powerless” is part of NBC’s Super Power Thursday hour (8-9 p.m.). “Superstore” serves as its lead-in. The production style of this quirky comedy is reminiscent of ABC’s short-lived “Pushing Daisies.”

“Powerless” – (Thursdays 8:30 p.m. NBC)

Welcome to Charm City, a place where superheroes and super villains are constantly destroying buildings and injuring innocent bystanders during their epic battles, and steel drum performers are expendable. Vanessa Hudgens stars as Emily, the newest boss for the product development department of Wayne Enterprises, run by Batman’s cousin, Van Wayne (Alan Tudyk), whose dream in life is to someday work in Gotham City.

“Code Black” Season One – CBS

“Code Black” stars Marcia Gay Harden and is based on the 2013 Ryan McGarry documentary of the same name. The title refers to an emergency room situation where the number of patients grossly outweighs the number of workers and available facilities.

Harden plays Dr. Leanne Rorish (Harden), the Residency Director of Angels Memorial Hospital. Rorish, who deals with saving and losing lives on a daily basis, is trying to function expertly while she grieves over her own personal losses.

Rob Lowe and Boris Kodjoe were added to the cast for the second season.
