A man found with self-inflicted wounds at the scene of a homicide in Oshawa last month has been charged with murder.

Police responded to a call at a home near Simcoe St. and Coates Rd. on the morning of Jan. 23rd, where they found the body of 31-year-old Cotie Weekley and Wesley Guzylak, 31, suffering from life-threatening injuries from a self-inflicted knife wound.

Guzylak is now facing a first-degree murder charge. Police say that the two had been in a relationship.

Guzylak appeared at a bail hearing in Oshawa Saturday morning, after he was released from hospital on Friday.

Police are still investigating, and have asked anyone with information to come forward and call the Major Crime Homicide Unit at 1-888-579-1520.
