CLEVELAND, Ohio – Romona Robinson is no longer the co-anchor on the 11 p.m. newscast at WOIO Channel 19. She will, however, continue to co-anchor the station’s 4 and 6 p.m. newscasts with Mark Nolan.

The new 11 p.m. co-anchors at Channel 19 are Tiffani Tucker and Chris Tanaka. They also are co-anchoring Channel 19’s 5 p.m. newscast, as well as sister station WUAB Channel 43’s 9 and 10 p.m. newscasts.

Robinson had been co-anchoring the 11 p.m. newscast with Denise Dufala, who left the Cleveland CBS affiliate station in December. Dufala said she left to spend more time with her family.

“Tiffani has been here a long time for us, and we think she’s going to do great,” said Erik Schrader, vice president and general manager at Channel 19 and Channel 43, both owned by Raycom Media.

“At the same time, Romona reached a time in her career when she wanted to spend more time with her husband, and we were excited to find a way to keep her here, honor her wishes and still have a great 11 p.m. news.”

Schrader also announced that Jamie Sullivan was returning to the Cleveland market, going back to Channel 19 as traffic reporter. Sullivan, who grew up in Cleveland, spent the last couple of years at WJLA Channel 7, the ABC station in Washington, D.C. She starts at Chanel 19 this Thursday, Feb. 9.

Tanaka joined Channel 19 news team in July 2016, after a five-year stay in Honolulu. While there, he covered everything from politics and tropical storms to shark attacks and Marcus Mariota’s meteoric rise to Heisman Trophy winner.

Tanaka’s father grew up in Lakewood, and his aunt still lives in Cleveland.

Tucker’s road to Cleveland began in Los Angeles with internships at KABC and E! Entertainment Television. She then landed jobs at WNDU in South Bend, Indiana, and WPEC in West Palm Beach, Florida.

While at WPEC, she reported on the historic presidential election and the deadly anthrax attack of a National Enquirer publisher. At WSVN in Miami, she covered the death of Anna Nicole Smith, hurricanes and the red carpet at “American Idol.”
