CLEVELAND, Ohio – Two people were injured in separate shootings early Sunday on the city’s East Side, police said.
The first shooting happened about 3:45 a.m. near the intersection of Nathaniel Road and St. Clair Avenue in the city’s South Collinwood neighborhood, Cleveland police spokesman Det. Reginald Lanton said. The victim, a 26-year-old man, was struck in the back.
The victim was taken to University Hospitals by a private vehicle, Lanton said. His current condition is unknown.
The second shooting happened almost exactly two hours later, around 5:45 a.m. The 20-year-old female victim was struck in the arm near East 142nd Street, south of Miles Avenue in the city’s Union-Miles neighborhood, Lanton said.
The extent of the woman’s injuries is unclear.
No additional information was released about either shooting Sunday morning. This post will be updated if further details are provided.
