SAN ANTONIO – Bexar County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating two separate fatal accidents that occurred Saturday evening on the Northwest Side.

The first accident occurred around 6:45 p.m. in the 10000 block of Caspian Bend when a woman driving in the residential area struck a 1-year-old boy who ran in front of her vehicle, according to a BCSO news release.

The boy’s parents transported him to Christa Santa Rosa Westover Hills Hospital, but he did not survive.

No charges have been filed at this time, but deputies continue to investigate.

BCSO said the second accident occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m. in the 7400 block of Walzem Road when a man driving a white pickup truck T-boned a woman who had driven her vehicle onto Walzem Road from Congressional Boulevard.

The woman did not survive the crash, but emergency medical personnel treated her teenage daughter for minor injuries at the scene, deputies said.

Authorities said the driver of the truck fled on foot, but was later apprehended at the Glen Super Mart in the 7000 block of Walzem Road.

Deputies continue to investigate.
