The City Council on Thursday took a pro forma vote, calling elections for a historic, $850 million municipal bond program, along with mayoral and council seats.
With all seats up for election, nearly every race includes multiple candidates. The filing period for a place on the ballot ends on Feb. 17. The only seat without a candidate is District 4. Councilman Rey Saldaña is expected to file paperwork soon and could face a challenger.
The six-proposition bond election is composed of projects in the following categories: streets, bridges and sidewalks; drainage and flood control; parks, recreation and open space; libraries and cultural facilities, public-safety facilities; and neighborhood improvements.
Early voting begins on April 24 and ends May 2. Election day is May 6.
