“Both drivers are blaming each other,” said San Antonio traffic officer C.S. Blackden. “That’s all I know.”

Austin Hargett, 22, said the driver of the 18-wheeler, who declined to be named, hit the front left side of his car.

“We were driving, and then we were upside down,” Hargett said.

A passenger in the jeep, 19-year-old Sydney Ellis, said they skidded against the 18-wheeler, then hit the guard rail and flipped over.

“We were spinning like the teacups at Disneyworld,” Ellis said.

The truck driver had a different story, though.

“These two youngsters started to merge into my lane, and then they hit me” he said.

He said the Jeep hit his car a few times before it spun out and flipped.

“I’m just glad they didn’t get hurt,” he said, “because I didn’t even feel it.”
