Visitors can enjoy Washington’s national parks for free today in honor of President’s Day.
Entrance fees to all 124 National Parks that normally charge for tickets will be waived on Feb. 20 in honor of the day. The Washington parks participating in the free day are:
The day is one of ten entrance-fee free days in 2017 in honor of the National Park Service’s 100th birthday. The next free days are the weekends of April 15-16 and 22-23, which are the weekends of National Park Week.
President’s Day is held the third Monday in February and celebrates George Washington’s birthday. Washington was born February 22, 1732. Now, the date is typically known as a day to honor all presidents.
