Ian Bell’s Brown Derby, which puts on “ridiculously staged readings of your favorite screenplays,” is doing its own version of the 1986 classic Tom Cruise action flick “Top Gun.”
Six actors portray a simplified version of the fighter-jet film with a twist — way more beach volleyball, locker room scenes and a lead who is gay but just won’t admit it.
The actors wing it, use hilarious props and can’t stop laughing themselves at the absurdity of it all.

The sold-out show plays through Saturday night at Re-Bar in downtown Seattle.
