RARITAN TWP. – Kevin P. Flanagan, 49, of Phillipsburg, was charged with two counts of assault on medical personnel after he fought with two people in the emergency room of Hunterdon Medical Center, police said.
Flanagan was out on control while in the emergency room at 6:27 a.m. on Tuesday, police said. He had used a pen to attempt to stab a nurse who was treating him and kicked another staff member in the stomach when they tried to intervene, police said.
When police arrived, Officer Eli Walters found Flanagan under control, but agitated and confrontational.
After being arrested, Flanagan was transferred to the Somerset County Jail pending his first appearance, police said.
