A 35-year-old Palmer Township woman drove off Lehigh Drive just before 8:30 a.m. Friday in Easton and crashed into a utility pole.
“Thank goodness for airbags,” April Acosta said after emerging unhurt following the wreck. “My first car accident ever.”
Acosta was driving in the 1400 block of Lehigh Drive toward Downtown when she “lost control. It happened so quickly. … That was weird. I never experienced that before.”
The front end of the red Oldsmobile Intrigue was damaged and the car was towed by Easton Auto Body. The wooden utility pole was scarred but not seriously damaged.
“I was just trying to get to work,” Acosta said. “I was driving a little too fast. I was a little late.”
She was cited with driving with a suspended license, city police said. She does not face other traffic offenses, an officer said.
