All lanes of Interstate 80 were closed Friday after a mudslide sent trees and rocks tumbling onto the highway in Placer County, according to California Highway Patrol.
The slide is I-80 westbound, east of Baxter and is blocking both sides of the freeway.
Eastbound I-80 is closed at Colfax and westbound traffic is closed at SR-20. Vehicles are being allowed on SR-20 as a detour but trucks are being turned around in Truckee.
CHP says to expect “significant delays.”
