Santa Rosa police Monday arrested a convicted gang member and found three guns and drugs in an east Santa Rosa home, according to police.

Alejandro Rivera Perez, 25, was arrested at a Deturk Avenue home police searched as part of a probation investigation, said gang Sgt. Tommy Isachsen.

Officers found two handguns, a sawed-off pistol-grip shotgun, cocaine and drug paraphernalia, and arrested Perez on suspicion of being a convicted felon with guns, possession of drugs for sale and a gang enhancement.

The Santa Rosa man is a documented gang member with prior convictions involving weapons, Isachsen said.

His bail was set at $250,000. Isachsen said detectives sought a high bail from concern Perez would leave the country to avoid prosecution, as he did on a prior case. Isachsen said Perez was extradited back to California from Mexico in 2015.
