SAN ANTONIO — A 1-year-old boy who was fatally struck by a car Saturday on the Northwest Side has been identified by the medical examiner’s office.

Tamim Alshahrani died of blunt force injuries in an incident that occurred at about 6:45 p.m. Saturday in the 10000 block of Caspian Bend on the far Northwest Side.

A woman was driving in the residential area and struck the toddler who ran in front of her vehicle, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

The child’s parents took him to Christa Santa Rosa Westover Hills Hospital, but he later died, the sheriff’s office said.

As of Saturday, no charges have been filed in the case, but deputies are continuing to investigate the case.
