I was an active member of the Democratic Party for 46 years, far longer than my current 23-year membership in the Republican Party.
I am utterly disgusted by the recent actions of protesters, who believe that somehow their radical words and deeds weaken and endanger the Trump administration. I am appalled by the total demise of the long-favored American institution, the loyal opposition.
Instead of offering to confirm administration cabinet nominees or to engage in the legislative process (as Democratic senators did in passing President George W. Bush’s tax cuts in June 2001), the Democrats in the House and Senate rely continuously on political castigation and obfuscation.
Independent, fair-minded voters view the degrading attacks on President Trump and are increasingly disgusted. Democrats and their nefarious allies should expect future election defeats that will eclipse their losses during the Obama years.
