Jeffrey Sandusky, the adopted son of convicted child molester and former Penn State University football coach Jerry Sandusky, was reportedly arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a child, WISH-TV reported.

Pennsylvania State Police took Jeffrey Sandusky, 41, into custody and he was arraigned on charges Monday afternoon in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. Sandusky’s adopted mother, Dottie, was also present at the District Magistrate’s office, according to WISH. The investigation began in Nov. 2016 after one child claimed to have received text messages from Sandusky, including ones that asked for naked pictures.

WTAJ-TV, a local CBS affiliate in Altoona, Pennsylvania, also reported on the arrest and charges.

The charges involved two alleged victims.

State police claim Sandusky was dating a woman and one alleged victim was her son. The couple had been living together for five years. The child’s father reportedly saw “explicit” text messages and then contacted police. After learning of the alleged abuse, Sandusky was asked to leave the house.

The second child was also allegedly abused going to back to 2013.

Bail for Sandusky was set at $200,000.

Back in June 2012, his father, Jerry Sandusky, was found guilty on 45 of 48 counts of sexually assaulting 10 boys over the course of 15 years. A former defensive coordinator for the once mighty Penn State football program under now deceased and former head coach Joe Paterno, the elder Sandusky’s conviction and the lead-up to his trial served as one of the more horrifying scandals in college sports and sports history and nearly destroyed the entire program.

Four months after his conviction, Sandusky, then 68, was sentenced to a minimum of 30 and maximum of 60 years in prison.

“I’m not going to sentence you to centuries,” Judge John Cleland said at the sentencing hearing according to ABC News. “It makes no sense for a 68-year-old man. This sentence will put you in prison for the rest of your life.”

Dottie Sandusky has supported her husband and according to a Centre Daily profile of her from May, she still regularly visits Sandusky at a prison in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. She has claimed to believe her husband was innocent.
