A body was discovered Sunday morning inside a Waynesburg University dormitory, authorities said.
The person was pronounced dead at 11:22 a.m., according to the Greene County Coroner's office.
The coroner's office has not released the person's identity, pending notification of family, and has not indicated whether it was a male or female.
There is no threat to Waynesburg university or the surrounding community, the coroner's office said.
Waynesburg police are investigating.
Sunday evening, the university confirmed that the deceased was a student.
The university issued a statement that said: “Our thoughts and prayers are with this student's family and friends. On behalf of Waynesburg University, we would like to express our deepest sympathies.
“We are cooperating fully with the authorities who are investigating the situation. We have been assured that it is not a suspicious death,” it said.
