TRENTON — A 17-year-old is facing charges he robbed a woman at gunpoint Thursday night.

The robbery was reported just before 8 p.m. on the first block of West Street.

The 21-year-old woman told police she had just gotten home and parked her car when she was approached by a man and robbed at gunpoint.

She was told to put all of her belongings on the ground and walk away, and the man ran off with her purse, police said.

A short time later, Officers Nicholas Mahan and Dominic Tucillo spotted a teenager matching the suspect’s description. He was taken into custody and identified as the robber, police said. He had a BB gun on him.

He faces robbery and weapons charges and was taken to Middlesex County Juvenile Detention Center.
