Plainfield native Melissa McCarthy got rave reviews from television viewers over the weekend for her "Saturday Night Live" sketch and Super Bowl ad for Kia Motors, but one viewer thought McCarthy "could dial back" a bit.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer told the "Extra" entertainment news show Sunday that McCarthy’s impression of him on "SNL" last week was a little exaggerated. McCarthy was shown lunging with a podium and insulting reporters in a briefing as a parody of Spicer’s tense relationship with the media.

"I’m not here to be your buddy. I’m here to swallow gum, and I’m here to take names," McCarthy tells reporters while pouring gum in her mouth.

The "Ghostbusters" star "needs to slow down on the gum chewing; way too many pieces in there," Spicer told "Extra."

The "SNL" sketch was part of a stellar weekend for McCarthy, 46. She also played an environmental superhero in an ad for the Kia Niro that aired Sunday during the Super Bowl.

The 60-second spot won the 29th annual USA Today Ad Meter competition, the newspaper announced Monday. More than 15,000 voters weighed in on their favorite Super Bowl commercials.

McCarthy, meanwhile, is set to star in the upcoming films "Life of the Party" and "Can You Ever Forgive Me?"
