While most Americans celebrated Super Bowl Sunday, former “Zoey 101” star Jamie Lynn Spears battled reports her 8-year-old daughter, Maddie, was involved in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident. Maddie was airlifted to a hospital after she was unconscious under water for several minutes, TMZ reported Sunday. Spears, the sister of pop star Britney Spears, was not with her daughter when the incident occurred during a hunting trip in Arcola, Louisiana.
The singer’s rep released an official statement on the accident to Entertainment Tonight Online Monday: “The details the media are reporting surrounding the incident regarding Jamie Lynn’s daughter Maddie are incorrect. Right now the Spears family asks that everyone respect their privacy during this time and appreciates all the prayers and support for their family.”
While the facts of the hunting accident might not be certain, Maddie was seemingly hurt in some respect because her grandfather, Jamie Spears, asked for well-wishes. “All I can say is pray for our baby Maddie,” he told the publication.
Hours before the accident, Britney Spears tweeted a message about blessings. “Another day, another blessing,” it read. The message was shared hours before Maddie’s incident happened. By Monday, it was liked more than 7,000 times by her 50.4 million Twitter followers.

Her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, famously conceived Maddie when she was 16 years old in 2007. Last June, she talked to Entertainment Tonight Online about what it was like to be a teen mother.
“We are very strict on what she eats and different things like that, but my husband is very strict on most everything,” she said at the time. “I would say I am cool at times, but [Maddie] is getting to that age now where if I want to dance around with her and friends, that is not that cool anymore. She is kind of like, ‘Mom! Don’t do that,’ which is really weird for me because I used to love that!”
Maddie’s current condition was unknown Monday.
