NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio – A social media threat against North Royalton Middle school was deemed not credible by police Sunday afternoon, the superintendent said in a message to parents.
The district was tipped off to the threat by parents and students alike, North Royalton City Schools superintendent Greg Gurka said in an email. North Royalton police were quickly pulled in to investigate.
North Royalton police have “determined there is no real danger to anyone at North Royalton Middle School or any of our buildings,” Gurka wrote. Officers will be around the middle school before the school day Monday to “help assure students and staff that all is well.”
North Royalton police did not have any additional information to release regarding the incident, a dispatcher told cleveland.com Sunday evening. Gurka did not immediately respond to a message seeking details on the threat.
