A 15-year-old boy fatally shot in a Jeffery Manor neighborhood park early Saturday has been identified, according to authorities.

Clavont Eubanks, of the 9700 block of South Merrill Avenue, was pronounced dead at 4:19 a.m. Saturday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, a spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner’s office said Sunday. Eubanks suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the attack, the office determined following an autopsy Sunday.

Clavont was shot while walking through a park about 3:30 a.m. Saturday in the 2100 block of East 97th Street in the Jefferey Manor neighborhood, police said. Merrill Playground Park is located at 2154 E. 97th St., around the corner from Clavont’s home.

The boy was in the park when he heard several shots and felt pain in his upper chest. He ran to a nearby home and someone called 911. He was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

No one was in custody.
