A man walking on the emergency catwalk in the Red Line subway caused trains to be rerouted to the Loop "L" on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
Power was turned off in both directions in the subway, and trains were rerouted between the Fullerton and Cermak-Chinatown stations about 2:10 p.m., according to the CTA.
A man was found walking on the catwalk in the subway, and officials were working to bring him back to safety, officials said.
Service was expected to be restored not long after 2:30 p.m., a CTA spokeswoman said.
The CTA officially described the incident as one of an "unauthorized person on the tracks," initially causing trains to be required to stand near the North/Clybourn station.
