MUNICH, Germany, June 27, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Sungrow, the world’s leading provider of inverters and energy storage systems, presented its latest solutions for solar, storage and electric vehicle charging during Intersolar Europe 2023 in Munich. The new solutions are designed to meet Europe’s growing demand for clean energy and carbon neutrality ambition.

PowerTitan 2.0: The new version for liquid-cooled energy storage

As more renewable energy projects come online and more resources are added to the energy mix, it becomes even more important to maintain grid stability and improve grid quality.

Sungrow launches the PowerTitan 2.0, its latest liquid-cooled energy storage system, an advanced integration of power electronics, electrochemistry and power grid support technologies. This system designed for the large-scale energy storage market features a large capacity 314 Ah battery, integrates battery modules and the PCS chain in a container of only 6 meters. It also incorporates Stem Cell Grid Tech and features systematic liquid cooling temperature control. The system significantly increases power density, making the container fitable with 5MWh batteries and 2.5MW PCS.

The system presents a round-trip efficiency (RTE) of 89.5% and the discharge capacity of the system increases by 9% throughout its entire life cycle.

1 X modular inverter: new features

Sungrow also presented the new features of its 1 X modular inverter for large-scale photovoltaic projects. The system is an innovation that combines the advantages of string and central inverters, achieving greater availability and further reducing the LCOE. The product features a single unit of at least 1.1 MW and can be configured from 1.1 MW to 8.8 MW, making it very flexible and adaptable to different block sizes and facilitating on-site operations and maintenance. The 1 X Modular Inverter is also distinguished by its MV Smart Disconnect technology, which incorporates an intelligent disconnect device connected in series to the subarray bus line. During the night standby mode, the device automatically disconnects the medium voltage station when the last inverter in the installation is not in use. This feature guarantees zero losses during standby hours. For example, a 1 GW PV plant can save up to 79 GWh of electricity over the life of the project.

Latest residential and storage solutions for homes

Adapted for self-consumption installations with storage, Sungrow has launched a complete solution that integrates the new SH15/20/25T three-phase hybrid inverter and the new SBH100-400 series of batteries.

This new battery has a modular design. The capacity of the battery module is greater than 5 kWh. Each device can be composed of between 2 and 8 modules. This battery system allows up to 4 units to be connected in parallel, scaled up to 160kWh, 8 modules per unit. In addition, the charge and discharge current of the battery is 50A and the hybrid inverter is of great power, between 15kW and 25kW. Thanks to its high capacity and power, the solution enables simultaneous operation of multiple household appliances, fast charging and discharging, quick transition to backup mode in case of network outages, and effortless system installation and configuration.

EV Chargers: From fully integrated residential charging solutions to charging on public roads

Sungrow also introduced its new electric vehicle charging solutions: an integrated 180 kW DC charger (IDC180E) and a 22 kW AC charger (AC22E-01). Both solutions are reliable, efficient and easy to use. These solutions can be integrated with photovoltaic and battery systems, becoming Sungrow’s photovoltaic ESS charger solution, which maximizes the consumption of clean energy, and reduces operation and maintenance, generating economic savings.

The IDC180E achieves a remarkable 96% charging efficiency, enabling energy optimization and reducing power consumption at charging stations. The AC22E-01 is equipped with an automatic phase switching function. In addition, dynamic charge management technology is used to allocate charging power in order to maintain the power limit while charging multiple EVs simultaneously, maximizing electricity usage.

Cybersecurity: The world’s first ETSI EN 303 645 certificate in the renewable energy sector issued by DEKRA

During the exhibition, Sungrow received the ETSI EN 303 645 certificate for its data logger, Logger3000/4000, being the first in the renewable energy industry to obtain the certificate issued by DEKRA, helping both products meet the rigorous requirements of cyber security in the UK G99 network code and the EU’s EC Radio Equipment Directive (RED).

Other notable products featured include the SG50/125CX-P2 commercial PV inverters and the ees AWARD 2023-winning liquid-cooled ESS PowerStack. The SP600S optimizer is compatible with Sungrow residential and commercial solar solutions, ideal for warranty and challenging scenarios of the future, maximizing the amount of energy produced by each photovoltaic module and providing extra security at the module level.

Sungrow solutions can be monitored and managed through Sungrow’s iSolarCloud platform. The platform provides real-time and detailed plant updates, flexible monitoring of energy flow and self-consumption, and simplified control of renewable energy assets. The latest version of the iSolarCloud app features a more streamlined design and smarter analytics features, ensuring efficient operation and maintenance, soon to be online in Europe.

For the last 16 years, Sungrow has focused on supporting European customers with its global presence and local expertise in sales, technical support and after-sales service. Sungrow is very adamant that technical innovation is in its DNA and has established two R&D centers in Europe.

The company has built a solid reputation and occupies a leading position in the large-scale and distribution segments.
