MADRID, 20 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Union of Associations of Self-Employed Workers and Entrepreneurs (Uatae) has regretted that the self-employed do not have a voice in the Food Chain Observatory by not being present at the meeting, which is held that Monday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, as reported in a statement.
Specifically, the self-employed organization urged Agriculture last week to incorporate the self-employed organizations in the meeting called for today.
The Autonomous Union considers that it is of “vital importance to have the organizations that represent, among other sectors, small businesses.” “We still do not understand the absence of the voice of the self-employed at a dialogue table as important as that of the Observatory,” they have pointed out.
The general secretary of Uatae, María José Landaburu, has insisted on the importance that “the smallest have representation in this body, because in the end they are the most affected by the current economic situation of uncertainty.” “It is not possible to exclude sectors that are the ones that are sustaining and making the economic overstrain in the face of rising costs,” she indicated.
For the self-employed association, the inequality in competitiveness that exists between small businesses (consisting of 750,000) and large stores must be tackled as a political priority and for this, they consider that “it is important” that the self-employed could participate in the observatory.
