Two women in their twenties found themselves seriously injured Saturday morning after being involved in a collision in the middle of the night on Highway 30 near La Prairie.
The accident took place around 2 a.m., at kilometer 63 of the highway. The vehicle with the two young women, whose driver was impaired by alcohol or drugs, struck a first vehicle in the middle of the road. The hit vehicle managed to pull over, just in time for the arrival of a third vehicle which, traveling at 100 km/h, hit the first vehicle.
The two women were taken to hospital with serious injuries but their lives are not in danger.
SQ investigators and reconstructionists were dispatched to the scene to determine the causes of the accident.
