Working in the modeling world with a benevolent approach and the desire to promote body diversity, but above all the well-being of models, this is the mission launched by the Montreal agency Humankind, which is the subject of a new production freshly landed on Vrai.

The documentary series Nouveaux faces takes an interest in the underside of modeling through ex-international model Marikym Hervieux and the agency she co-founded with Claudine De Repentigny, her ex-agent.

Based in Montreal, Humankind has established itself in the world of fashion and modeling with a desire to change things and to review the codes of this often pointed out industry. At the agency, authenticity, diversity and inclusion come first. It presents models of different sizes – from 5 ft 4 in to more than 6 ft –, of different builds and of different ethnicities.

Installed on the Vrai platform since Tuesday, the documentary series is well produced and approaches the angle of talent management with kindness. We also follow the journey of three models, Megan, Max and Shilloh, who try to conquer new markets and new agencies in Los Angeles as well as in the American Big Apple, New York.

An international seduction operation specific to each one which is accompanied by a lot of challenges and an emotional charge that is sometimes very great. The story, divided into eight half-hour episodes, is captivating and sometimes very touching.

Having herself lived with eating disorders during her modeling career, Marikym Hervieux, now a businesswoman and mother of two boys, has made it a point of honor to sow good around her, to promote health in his protégés and to take care of his models.

Produced by Toast Media and directed by Brian Desgagné and Christine Doyon, Nouveaux Visages is now available on Vrai.
