In coming years, major challenges will come to European Union in financial planning. The Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) said this before meeting with Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in Berlin.

It is not only forthcoming Brexit that will bring significant problems for Europe when it redistributes financial burdens. The CDU Chairman made it clear that new future tasks, such as defence Policy, migration and fight against causes of flight, would also have to be regulated and considered with new financial planning.
It is predicted that Brexit will spend 12 billion euros a year less in EU budget. How this gap can be filled is not yet fixed. In past, not all EU Member States had agreed to spend more money after withdrawal of Great Britain, Merkel said. The Nerlands had already spoken out against an extension of EU budget. An informal EU summit on Friday in Brussels will discuss, among or things, medium-term financial framework.
Both Luxembourg’s prime minister, as well as Dutch head of government Rutte, stressed that a strong government in Berlin was important for ir respective countries and for Europe.
