The radical Islamic Taliban have killed several policemen in a series of attacks on Afghan security posts. According to official information, 19 officials died. The news agency AP reported of 22 killed police officers.

Several Taliban were also killed in battles, it was said. According to official data, attackers attacked both security forces in norrn province of Kunduz as well as in south of country. The Taliban confirmed attack.
The chief administrative officer of District of Chan Abad in province of Kunar said that 13 police officers were killed on Sunday alone in an attack on a checkpoint. Only one official survived battle.
The Taliban also took responsibility for two attacks on control posts in eastern province of Ghasni. According to governor’s spokesman Arif Noori, nine police officers and six Taliban were killed. Mujahid spoke of 14 killed policemen.

A Pakistani police spokesman said that deputy governor Kunars has been missing since a visit to border town of Peshawar. Kasi Mohammed Nabi Ahmadi had recently come to a medical treatment after Peshawar. The Pakistani authorities had only experienced this visit after a related Ahmadis complained about disappearance of lieutenant governor.
Ahmadi belongs to party HISB-I Islami of former warlord Gulbuddin Hekmatyār. The 2016 has closed a peace agreement with government in Kabul.
The security situation in Afghanistan has worsened since end of NATO’s combat mission and withdrawal of most international soldiers at end of 2014. The US and some NATO allies are now seeking to send a few thousand additional troops to Afghanistan. The US has severely intensified air raids on Taliban.
