The journalist and policy expert Sylke Tempel, editor-in-chief of International Politics (IP) journal and member of Board of German Society for Foreign Policy (DGAP), is dead. She was hit by a collapsing tree on Thursday, when Storm Xavier moved across north of Germany, Berlin fire brigade shared.

Temple was 54 years old. The journalist, born in Bayreuth, has published DGAP-organ IP- magazine and Berlin Policy journal since 2008. Before that, she wrote for Jewish General, Austrian magazine profile, Swiss magazine facts and Berlin Tagesspiegel. She also wrote guest posts for time. She was also a book author and reviewer.
Temples and ir two riders had arrived in afternoon from an event at Villa Borsig in Berlin – an institution of Foreign Office. Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel also participated in appointment.
