A pedestrian was killed Wednesday morning after being struck by an Amtrak train in North Hollywood, authorities said.

The incident occurred at 8:27 a.m. at 12100 Sherman Way, Los Angeles Fire Department officials said in a statement. The location is near Laurel Canyon Boulevard.

There was no information on the age or gender of the person, except that they were determined dead after the collision, fire officials said.

The Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were investigating the incident, officials added.
