SAN FRANCISCO, June 26, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — The Yocto Project, an open source collaborative initiative that helps developers build custom Linux-based systems, has evolved significantly over the past 12 years to meet the needs of their community. The project continues to lead build system technology with advances in build reproducibility, software license management, SBOM compliance, and reuse of binary artifacts. In an effort to support the community, Yocto Project announced the first Long Term Support (LTS) release in October 2020. Today, we are excited to announce that we are expanding the LTS release and extending the lifecycle from 2 to 4 years as standard.
