The jackpot for Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot has climbed above the $200 million mark for the first time since November.
The cash value of the $206 million drawing is $124.4 million. The drawing will air at 10:59 p.m. on WABC-7 in the New York City area and WPVI-6 around Philadelphia.
No one has hit the jackpot since Dec. 17 when a $121.6 million ticket was sold in Selbyville, Del. As the law there allows, the Pennsylvania couple who won decided to remain anonymous. After a 25 percent federal tax withholding, the couple received a check for $72.1 million.
On Saturday, a Woodbridge truck driver won $1 million by matching five numbers but not Privebet the Powerball. The New Jersey ticket was one of three sold worth $1 million. The others were purchased in Illinois and Pennsylvania.
The odds of a $2 ticket hitting the jackpot are more than 292 million to 1. It’s roughly a 11,688,053 to 1 shot to match five numbers but not the Powerball.
Powerball is played in 44 states, Washington, D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
No one hit Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot, inching the top prize for Friday’s drawing to $20 million.
