Santa Clarita Diet: (Netflix) The horror-comedy is about married Realtors — Sheila (Drew Barrymore) and Joel (Timothy Olyphant) — raising their teenage daughter in the quiet L.A. suburb who face an unusual problem. Sheila has suddenly turned into a zombie-cannibal. The premise would seem impossibly hard to maintain, yet after watching all 10 episodes, the series only seems impossibly funny. Barrymore and Olyphant are terrific as a couple still in love after 25 years, trying to make it work despite the little problem. Worried that Joel might have to kill her, Sheila asks how he’d go about doing it. Probably bash her brains in with a baseball bat, he replies. When she says this sounds kind of hostile, Joel says, “Oh, so this is going to be a thing?” In marriage, there are moments you can never win.
