A 50-year-old passenger in a car stopped in North Catasauqua faces drug charges after police seized suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his possession, police said.
Charged is James Harvey White, of the 500 block of Linden Circle, Northampton.
A North Catasauqua officer at 11:30 p.m. Monday stopped the Hyundai Elantra along Main Street at Fourth Street for an alleged traffic violation. Police said White, who was in the front passenger seat, appeared nervous and was searching around the car.
The officer found a red backpack reportedly belonging to White in the car. White and the female driver both gave consent for the officer to search the backpack, police said.
