BARCELONA, 19 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Grifols has inaugurated a new purification and filling plant for albumin, the most abundant protein in plasma, at its production and supply plant in Dublin (Ireland) to meet the growing global demand for plasma drugs.
The plant has expanded the company’s facilities in Ireland by more than 17,000 square meters, which, according to the company, “plays an increasingly important role” in the production, packaging and distribution of Grifols treatments around the world .
The company currently has a workforce of over 300 workers in Dublin, a figure that is expected to grow over the next two years to around 500 people.
The Irish complex triples the annual filling capacity of Grifols’ Albutein Flexbag flexible packaging, a novel alternative for the storage and transport of albumin.
Dublin is the company’s fifth industrial complex dedicated to the production of essential plasma drugs and they have invested close to 300 million euros since it was created in 2012.
