Alexandra Richards has ‘rents who rock. The model and DJ, who sat front row at Saturday’s Georgine show and will spin at Monday’s Philipp Plein after-party, gets plenty of support and advice from her mother, supermodel Patti Hansen.
“My mom is like, ‘Go get a catalog!’ ” said Richards, 30. “And I’m like, ‘Everything is online now, mom.’
“She’s my cheerleader, as much as I am for her.”
Richards is trying not to adopt the sullen pout that’s so popular in modeling today. “My mom had no shame in smiling,” added Richards. “I always have to remember that when I go out: Just smile. It’s so hard to not be so serious taking a photograph.”
Her dad, Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, was initially perplexed by her career choice in music.
“It took him a little while to kind of understand what [DJing] was. He’s come out and surprised me a few times when I’ve been [working] and I’m like, ‘What are you doing here? Go away!’ ” says Richards, joking.
“My mom and dad are like little love puppies, they’re the cutest things ever,” she added. “It’s really sweet.”
