Texas travelers will find 2017’s “best” stay in the Lone Star State in San Antonio at the Mokara Hotel & Spa, according to a new ranking.
The hotel, at 212 W Crockett St, retained its No. 1 spot on U.S. News & World Report’s list of the “Best Hotels in Texas” for accommodating all types of travelers, elegance and “long list of amenities,” the analysis said.

To compile the list, the report considered each property’s reputation among professional travel experts, guest reviews and hotel class ratings, a news release said. The Mokara prides itself on being a “sophisticated sanctuary” on the banks of the River Walk, its seafood offerings and spa.
Omni Hotels and Resorts owns and operates The Mokara and its neighbor, Omni La Mansion Del Rio, which was ranked in the report’s top 25 Texas hotels, the release said.
