When rumors about Nintendo developing a hybrid console codenamed NX surfaced way back in 2015, murmurs of Square Enix possibly bringing “Final Fantasy XIV” to the upcoming gaming device circulated the web. Today, as Nintendo is gearing up for the launch of its Nintendo Switch console, the company behind the popular fantasy role-playing video game is once again hinting at the possibility of making the game available on Project Scorpio’s rival.

Nintendo Everything reports that Square Enix opened up about “Final Fantasy XIV” for the Switch at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival in Europe this weekend. The Japanese developer apparently gave fans hope when it said that the Switch version of the title is under “consideration.” Though this is not a real confirmation of the game’s release on the upcoming console, it’s good to know that the company is consistent with what producer Naoki Yoshida said two years ago about bringing the title to Nintendo’s next major gaming device.

Square Enix has also revealed what fans should expect from the second new job that will be added to “Final Fantasy XIV” in an upcoming expansion. The company said that the new job players can have in “Stormblood” is the Samurai. With this affiliation, the player’s character will use the katana as primary weapon along with a saya.

PC Gamer learned that Square Enix also announced the introduction of a new continent in the game. This new continent is situated in the far east, and it is currently believed to be the lair of the Samurai that starts at Level 50 and uses the same armor as the monks.

Other details revealed at the FanFest include the new Beast Tribe called The Kojin and the new Primal called Susano. Fans should also expect the addition of new dungeons Yanxia and The Azim Steppe. Then, there is this new player named Kugane who will join the action when the expansion arrives, as per PlayStationLifeStyle.net.

“Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood” is slated for release on the PlayStation 4 and PC on June 20 of this year.
