Monday, June 28th at 9am, the French test opened the ball of the French patent 2021, for three hours. In general series, for the part “Grammar and language skills-Comprehension and interpretation skills” , scored on 50 points (out of the 100 points of the test in total) and lasting 1h10, the students had to study the text “Le Capitaine Fracasse” by Théophile Gautier (1863) and, in image, a photogram (isolated image) of the film “Beauty and the Beast” directed by Jean Cocteau (1946). In “Dictation” , the candidates worked on an extract from “Mémoires d’outre-tombe” (1848-1850) by François-René de Chateaubriand. In “Subject of imagination” , the students had to describe “the walk of Baron de Sigognac at nightfall in the sinister garden of the castle”. In “Subject of reflection” , the other possible choice in part “Writing” of the test, the Third had to reflect on the following question:”Do you like to discover literary and artistic works in which the supernatural or the strange intervene ?”.
