Impeach Trump: President Trump should be impeached. He incessantly lies, boasts, insults and threatens. However, that is not why he should be impeached.
He is gutting financial and environmental regulations, stifling science, reducing sanctions against Russia, angering allies, eliminating the separation of church and state and feuding with the press. These acts may earn him the distinction of being bad for the country but probably aren’t grounds for impeachment.
Trump will not release his tax returns. I do not know if that is grounds for impeached but it says something about the man and should have prevented him from getting elected.
Finally, Trump refuses to divest himself of his vast business interests. That creates obvious conflicts of interest, especially when it come to overseas matters. That is forbidden under Article I, Section 9 of the Constitution and is grounds for impeachment. Trump should not be allowed to enrich himself and his family through sweetheart deals.
Fortunately, the Democrats are submitting a “divestment or impeachment” bill. Unfortunately, it is “dead on arrival” because Republicans have the majority in both houses of Congress. Need I say more?
