Detectives with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office found the body of Henry Conly Fitchett, 87, in his Aurora-area home Thursday morning, sheriff spokesman Lt. Chris Baldridge said. Fitchett was reported missing Jan. 29 by his family.

Fitchett’s son, 59-year-old Edward Fitchett, was arrested and charged with theft, identity theft, criminal mistreatment and abuse of a corpse.

Family members previously told authorities they thought Fitchett had moved from the Aurora area to the Estacada area with a girlfriend.

Edward Fitchett told KOIN this week that he was in charge of his father’s money.

The state medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine Fitchett’s cause of death.

Edward Fitchett is scheduled to appear in court at 3 p.m. Friday.
