LYNDHURST – A former high school substitute teacher and athletic coach was arrested Wednesday and accused of exchanging pornography with underage girls, authorities said.
Jonathan Jasinski (BCPO)
Jonathan Jasinski, 26, of Lyndhurst, was charged with possession of child pornography and endangering the welfare of a child, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal.
Jasinski was employed at Lyndhurst High School as a full-time substitute teacher, in-school suspension officer, and assistant coach of the hockey and baseball teams.
Jasinski resigned shortly his positions shortly before his arrest, the prosecutor said.
The substitute teacher had been under investigation for “sexual conduct with juveniles under his control while employed” at the school, Grewal said.
“The investigation revealed that Jasinski utilized the internet and social media applications to communicate with several juvenile females,” the prosecutor said. “He also exchanged sexually explicit videos and photographs with these juveniles.”
Jasinski was held at the Bergen County Jail but released after a court appearance Friday in which he agreed to having no unsupervised contact with anyone under age 18, no social media or direct messaging and no contact with the victims.
