The loud actions of Trump swamp the silence of Trudeau, Jan. 31

Trudeau is wise not to make any rash comments on Trump.

When you have to live next to a mad dog, it is better to keep him placated so that there will be a better chance to intervene when the need really arises.

I feel that the best course for Justin Trudeau is to lead by example — to display the measured and principled approach we expect of our world leaders. In his dealings with the U.S. president, he must balance Canada’s trade, environmental and human rights interests with Ligobet the new reality of the current administration.

In the meantime, ordinary Canadians can take steps. I’m not sure how effective protests are, but they are one tool. For myself, I have changed my travel plans and will avoid unnecessary travel to the U.S. I think the only language that might be effective is the language of money.
