Sarah Marshall, the wife of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, is arguably his biggest fan. The couple has been married since 2011 and she regularly takes to her social media accounts on Instagram and Twitter to post about her husband’s team.
Last year, she wrote a message about how the wives of players in the Super Bowl must be nervous, but wished she knew the feeling. “I can’t imagine the kind of sick to your stomach nerves that must be setting in for the wives, but I pray that one day I can relate!” she wrote at the time.
Marshall shared a screen shot of the post Thursday and captioned it, “Tweeted this on the day of the Super Bowl last year. The prayer was answered and the nerves are real!” Within minutes, the post was liked dozens of times by her 17,500 followers.
Although she watched her husband’s media interviews for the Super Bowl Monday, she switched between that and “The Bachelor.” “Flipping between the bachelor and SB opening night. Strong chance these worlds collide and someone asks Matt to accept their rose,” she tweeted at the time.
Marshall, who hails from Maine, is also an athlete. She plays basketball and she won two titles and was named to three All-State teams, the Heavy reported in 2014.
The WNBA’s Atlanta Dream hired her to be the Sponsorship Sales Consultant in 2013. “Sarah has played women’s basketball at an elite level. She has a true passion for the game and knowledge of everything that goes into it,” Ashley Preisinger, the then-CEO of the Dream, said in a press release when Marshall was hired. “She could do many different things at this stage in her life, and we are thrilled to have her as a part of our team.”
