SECAUCUS — A Belleville woman, her adult son and two others have been charged with shoplifting more than $650 in items from the Kohl’s department store in Secaucus, police said.
Michelle Zaccardo, 47, and her son, Nikko Zacccardo, 25, both of Belleville, and Doreen McDonald, 50, and Jennifer McDonald, 21, both of Lodi, fled the store after the 6 p.m. incident on Jan. 31, a police report said. They were arrested after their vehicle was stopped by Wood-Ridge and Carlstadt police, police said.
Police said the four were responsible for the theft of $666 in merchandise. It could not be determined if and how the McDonalds are related.
Doreen McDonald was charged with shoplifting and conspiracy to commit shoplifting, police said, noting that she also has outstanding warrants out of Hillside for $489 and Saddle Brook for $1,116.
Jennifer McDonald was charged with conspiracy to commit shoplifting.
Michelle Zaccardo was charged with shoplifting, conspiracy to commit shoplifting and an outstanding warrant for $155.00 from Union Township.
Nikko Zaccardo was charged with shoplifting and an outstanding warrant from Fairfield in the amount of $250.00. All four were transported to Hudson County jail.
